Matrioshka was built as part of the Advanced Animation course in LABASAD's Master in Creative Coding.
The brief: design a full brand identity and website for an Eastern European restaurant from scratch, with complete creative freedom while avoiding the usual "ethnic restaurant" cliché of stock photography, generic type, and flat color.

The work focused on three priorities
Build an identity with real character, away from the cliché, bold type, flag-based color, and folk pattern pushed to the edge.
Turn cultural storytelling into interaction: the cuisine's origin is discovered by moving the cursor, not by reading a paragraph.
Keep a coherent system across every section (header, menu, philosophy, contact) without losing the visual energy of the concept.

Result
The result is a landing page with real personality, where typography, pattern, and microinteraction carry the story without relying on stock photography or generic visual shortcuts — showing how art direction and front-end development can live in the same hand.
